Kabbalistic 40-day ‘soul correction’ guide for Elul & the High Holidays released on Sefaria

A daily reading ritual for Elul and the High Holidays, known as a ‘soul correction’, from the cornerstone kabbalistic text Tiqqunei ha-Zohar has been adapted for the 5781/2021 calendar and released, via Sefaria, into the Creative Commons in advance of Rosh Ḥodesh Elul.

The daily ritual guide published on Sefaria comprises a ‘ḥiluk’ (division) of the text, which begins on Rosh Ḥodesh Elul and culminates with Yom Kippur. The centuries-old 40-day custom of spiritual preparation derives from a belief held by kabbalistic schools of 16th century Safed that the most appropriate texts to study during the Ten Days of Repentance were kabbalistic works.
